chinatown comic now available

Thanks everyone for coming out to our recent release party for The Streets of Chinatown, the fifth in our series of ten Oregon History Comics. More than 40 people braved the cold to check out the newest comic at the release party, which featured talks by community historians Henry Sakamoto and Mary Leong. Missed the release? Don’t worry! You can now pick up a copy at our online store.

Speaking of the comics series, things are coming along for completion of the box set, Oregon History Comics: Vol. 1-10. We are finishing the box’s design (image above courtesy Julianna Johnson). Mark you calendar: the release of all 10 issues is slated for Sunday, March 4th at Powells Bookstore. Details here.

Also, for the first occasion in some time, we have a good supply of the individual comics available at our store. We just found some copies of John Isaacson’s The Life and Death of the X-Ray Cafe, about Portland’s beloved all ages space, the X-Ray. In addition, we still have Khris Soden’s Portland’s Black Panthers still in stock. Each issue is only $3 cheap! Check them out and pick up a copy here!
